This page is dedicated to inform you of training around Japan that is either exclusively for ALTs, or training that ALTs are very welcome to attend. Training opportunities posted here are free, ALT training online is not for profit and doesn't advertise paid for training. If you have found any training/workshops not here, or are running one yourself, email in and I'll pop it on this page for others to benefit from.
Upcoming presentations on ALTTO:
2016 and 2017 were busy years for ALT Training Online with giving presentations on this progressive initiative up and down the country. In 2018, we're presenting much less on ALTTO so we can focus on completing the course modules, as well develop the best materials for you to use in your classrooms - whilst keeping everything free.
Please return here for updates on ALTTO presentations.
Also, be sure to keep checking the ELT calendar below which lists all teaching events in Japan.

The Japan Association for Language Teachers
(JALT)
JALT is the largest language teaching association in Japan with chapters and special interest groups (SIGs) all over Japan. There will be a group near you with a presentation or workshop soon. You could present at one yourself too, just get in touch with them. Below is the link to the events page around the country.
The 'Doing Research' module writer holds workshops in Fukushima University - if you're in the area.
Sean Mahoney's research page is here.
The ELT Calendar provides information for all workshops, presentations, seminars etc for teacher development in Japan.
- after you go to an event, it would be useful to let all of us know what you learnt, skills and techniques you developed, ideas you got..... use facebook. Or. if you have a lot to say, why not write a guest blog? Email the ALT Community Media Manager David Hayter [email protected] to talk about it.
